The dataset for download

Research as of 22 Oct 2026, newest source used from 20 Oct 2026. Mainly msfsaddons.com, plus SimFlight, Stormbirds, FSNews, Threshold, flightsim.to, developer sites and the official forum.

The free texts in the dataset are in German. The English version on this website is a translation; the original is authoritative.

Downloads

Facts are free, the texts of the sources are not. That is why the dataset only links articles and copies no article text.

How clean the data is

152
entries with high confidence, plus 396 medium and 200 low. With mixed ratings the lowest level applies.
60
entries only appear in lists, without a dedicated release article. Probably released, but not checked.
7
entries where the sources contradict each other on the status.
428
aircraft without verified information on MSFS 2024. For MSFS 2020 it is 350.
375
aircraft without a verified price.
225
entries without a date. For 127 of them this is normal, as the projects have no date yet.
196
developer names, 20 alternative spellings are merged as aliases. The original spelling is kept on every aircraft; minor merging errors are possible.

Decisions of the dataset

Status: The free text of the sources was simplified to fixed values; the original text is kept on every entry. “Dormant” means more than 12 months without a sign of life and is a label of the dataset.

Sim compatibility: 69 special cases with contradictory or long source texts were decided by hand. Where sources seriously contradict each other, it says “Disputed”.

Dates: Quarters and years are stored as ranges so they sort cleanly. A day date only exists when the source gives one.

How studios approach MSFS 2024

  • iniBuilds

A350 V2 2024 only and free for existing customers; development of the 2020 A350 ends with the V2 launch, the 2020 version remains available; dual support forces compromises. A380 2024 only (2026-09-15) (K43)

  • PMDG

737 NG 2024 only (not compatible with 2020), 60 percent discount for 2020 owners; the 777 family is also on the 2024 Marketplace. 2025: no new 2020 titles after the 777-200ER; the 747 comes for 2024 only

  • FlyByWire

the native A380X for 2024 was released on 2026-06-27 (free); the 2020 version continues and gets backported cockpit lighting. Native A32NX in development, no date; until then the A32NX runs via the FBW installer, "not native" (v0.14.0, Dec 2025) (K07)

  • Black Square

all native aircraft were made 2024 compatible (announced 2025-09-18, via the installer and Just Flight accounts); the announcement does not say whether this is free. Steam Gauge Overhaul series excluded, replaced by the "Professional" line (K21)

  • Just Flight (also distributes Black Square, DC Designs and others)

"All of these updates are free for owners of our MSFS 2020 products, no matter which store they were bought from." Page from 2026-04-08; the status table is an image and was not readable. Earlier confirmation Dec 2024; according to Dec 2025 Just Flight has converted ten MSFS products to native

  • DC Designs (via Just Flight)

"free for owners, in line with the DC Designs policy for native 2024 conversions". F-16 conversion finished on 2026-07-11, F-14 next (K33)

  • Fenix

    A319 / A320 / A321 compatible with 2024 since Nov 2024 as a dual-sim package, not described as a separate native build; free "V3" update announced for 2026-10-18 (K06)

  • Aerosoft

CRJ V2 was released on 2025-04-01 for 2020 and 2024 in one package, free for CRJ 550/700 and bundle owners via SimMarket (K14)

  • Hype Performance Group (HPG)

According to a guide (Dec 2024) the H145 and H160 run in both sims by copying the 2020 files, with limitations (manual fuel via EFB, no pause in flight, TDS GTNXi blocked). No indication of a native rebuild or upgrade price

  • Carenado

    no studio-wide announcement found. According to the unofficial list native (Marketplace): B55, C172, C182Q, F33A, PA-28-236 Dakota, CT210N; compatible: C170B, C182RG II, C337H, CT182T, M20R, PA28 Archer II, PA28R Arrow III, PA34T, PA44, PC12, WYMF5 (as of about mid 2025). Newer releases come to 2024 first, 2020 later (King Air B200: 2026-03-26 to 2026-05-15; T-34B: 2026-01-08 to 2026-02-22) (K19, K20)

  • Milviz

no 2024 status found; the only data point is a user report from Nov 2024 that the Corsair flies but the instruments are dead

Stores and channels

  • MSFS Marketplace (in the sim)

Microsoft keeps 30 percent (article from 2023-04-05, changed Jan 2025). Approval and updates take time: Vref "well over a month until anything moves"; //42 mentioned one product that sat for about six months, and eight pending (2023). Regional pricing: H-Jet about USD 19 in Brazil; PMDG 737 in some regions only about USD 2.40 equivalent (2023). PMDG found the Marketplace return "pretty good for the share"

  • Developers' own stores

iniBuilds Store (several currencies), Just Flight (own shop, British company), //42 store

  • SimMarket

large retailer; terms (commission, app) not found

  • Orbx Direct

losing vendors: Parallel 42 ended its seven-year partnership on 2025-11-15 (products no longer on Orbx Direct, previous purchases stay in the Orbx account but are frozen on the last update, updates via the //42 store, Marketplace or Contrail); azrsim stopped Orbx store sales on 2026-01-28 due to "major delays" with the storefront. Further departures (Pyreegue, Turbulent Designs) appear in search results, dates not checked

  • Contrail

named as a channel by Parallel 42; operator and terms not determined

  • StrataSim.shop

StrataSim Designs (the StrataWx team), owner / CEO Tyler Johnson (article 2026-10-11): developers keep 85 percent (15 percent of the net sale price; the first five developers pay 10 percent); no listing or monthly fee; sells as seller of record (payment, sales tax, VAT, chargebacks); 14-day hold, then payout via Stripe Connect; supports MSFS and X-Plane add-ons. StrataWx itself is sold in the iniBuilds Store and at SimMarket

  • flightsim.to

Freeware and mod hub with user collections and a news site (news.flightsim.to); size, API and terms not determined
